About the event
We would like to connect with you. Instead of having a formal meeting, we are cultivating spaces throughout the City of Austin to cultivate relationships with community members. We will discuss our upcoming efforts, how you can get involved, and practice mindfulness tools all at the same time.
You will learn about what we are working on, and how you can get involved. We invite you to bring materials to take notes, a water bottle, and the willingness to connect with other people. Below are the topics we will review on October 17th:
The annual Melanated Community Book Drive: a collection and distribution of books with authors and characters of the global majority.
Literary Healing Experience: My Grandmother's Hands, we are reading this book as a community, discussing and reflecting on the information regarding how trauma is stored in white, Black and police bodies.
The de-criminalization of girls of the African Diaspora.
Black Herstory Week 2020
Rooted in Healing Retreat 2020
Fundraising for CAHP Initiatives
We look forward to spending time and energy with you.
