About the Event

Girls of the African Diaspora receive disproportionate rates of punitive treatment in the education and juvenile justice systems. The Innocence Initiative is a 5 organization collaboration that will elevate the data, listen to the real-life stories of Black girls, and address disparities that perpetuate adultification through advocacy, training, and a public awareness campaign.

This meeting is driven by the COMMUNITY CARE TEAM. We are in phase 3 of our planning and everyone is invited to the table.

The CARE TEAM will: 1) Create a policy that schools can adopt to eliminate over-criminalization. 2) Create an advocacy campaign to create awareness of the problem.
