Elected Officials Lack Humanity

About the Event
Please join Community Advocacy & Healing Project, 10,000 Fearless First Responders, the Austin Justice Coalition and the Fowler family as we host a press conference and rally to celebrate Sandra Bland Day celebration and the life of Tardrick "Trollie" Fowler, Jr. whose death was ruled a suicide. A ruling that was provided when evidence was ignored by the Austin Police Department and Travis County’s new district attorney Jose Garza.
Garza ran for office on the premise that “communities can reimagine [the] DA’s office as one that respects the dignity of communities of color, working families, and immigrants, and one that righteously delivers justice for survivors.” This rally and press conference is occurring because the Fowler family is a family of color that has not received justice delivered righteously. The Fowler family has not just experienced the loss of their child, but also the trauma of being told they were going to get assistance from many elected officials and representatives of governmental agencies without follow-up. Governmental agencies and their political subdivisions in Austin and other cities and counties in Texas have continuously treated Black people inhumanely.
This is a rally and press conference. This is a consentual space where people are invited to gain consent prior to engaging with other's in order to honor the safety precautions of COVID. We will gather at 7:00pm CST and begin at 7:30 pm CST to end before 9:00pm.
Please join us for a great time, and an opportunity to learn more about Trollie and the lack of an adequate investigation into his death.
