Healing Herstories: A Self-Care Salon for Womxn of Color
Time & Location
About the Event
The Austin History Center and Community Archivist Program invite you to unwind and celebrate Women’s History Month on Saturday, March 30, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM! This will be a relaxing morning for women and nonbinary folks to connect, share, and recharge together. The event will take place in the David Earl Holt Photo Gallery of the Austin History Center at 810 Guadalupe St. While our dialogues will be centered on womxn of color, all are welcome to attend! Free for all ages with refreshments provided.
The event will feature a keynote talk by Stephanie Hayden, Director of Austin Public Health, titled “Courage, Passion and Balance: Do you have the courage to pursue your passion and the balance to ensure your self-care?” The talk will be followed by a moderated panel discussion that will address topics related to women’s mental health, personal self-care strategies, and the barriers to wellness we face in our Austin communities.

Attendees are invited to bring whatever brings you joy and comfort for the day’s discussion--yoga mat, coloring book, you name it! We look forward to seeing you there!
